The brief
Breaking away from the cold, corporate norm
Engine Room Chartered Accountants is a platinum-partner Xero accountancy and business consultancy firm. The accountancy sector is known for looking stiff, formal and uninviting. Engine Room’s existing brand identity had bold elements but lacked warmth and clarity in its digital execution. Our goal was to reposition the brand without sacrificing its credibility.
Engine Room’s original palette included a bold red — a rarity for the industry. We chose to fully embrace this signature colour, using it deliberately across the site to create a distinct, confident and cohesive experience. This visual commitment made the brand instantly more recognisable and striking.
Our approach
Guided by Gem Media’s brand strategy framework, we led with emotional resonance — crafting a brand experience that felt intelligent and confident, but never cold. We amplified approachability while retaining a sense of established expertise.
The new website blends strategic clarity with a refined sense of personality. It positions Engine Room as both expert and approachable—helping to attract modern business owners who value partnership, not just compliance.
